PAST WORK
Antonakis was born in Athens in 1978. He studied painting and photography at the Athens School of Fine Art and Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL. His practice is based on paintings but also includes ceramics, collages, video and photography. He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions worldwide, in Greece, Great Britain, Germany, France, Korea and the United States, with most recent, Bodies in Motion, Cc και Community Tools in Athens, as well underthesun at Tinos. He has worked as a curator for programs such as Snehta Residency and has organized and curated exhibitions for platforms such as RemapKM and Glasgow International. He collaborates with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete and the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens. He has collaborated with organizations and companies such as Agoni Garmimi Gonimi and Sun of the Beach as well as with publishing houses such as Odos Panos for the design of book covers. Since 2015 he has collaborated with the German magazines Flaneur and Sofa, while in 2011 he collaborated with the Greek magazine Container as a columnist. He is represented by Eleftheria Tseliou Gallery in Athens, where he lives and works.
